Fort Stevens Field Trip: UPDATED

Calling ALL Parents!

The Seventh grade trip to Fort Stevens is quickly approaching and volunteers are REQUIRED. It is imperative that we get a minimum of one male and three female volunteers to join us on this three day, two night excursion. (6/3 - 6/5) Also, an extra driver with a truck for our gear would be extremely helpful. :-)

Volunteers will need to drive students from Cascade Heights out to Fort Stevens as well as drive us around the area. The Astoria Column, the gun batteries at Fort Stevens, and the beach are just a few of the wonderful places we will be visiting.

We are NOT able to get a bus for this trip. The requirement of two nights and multiple locations in a three day period means that we must have multiple, personal vehicles for the entire time we are there.

I need to know volunteer status by May 1st.

IF WE ARE UNABLE TO GET VOLUNTEERS WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO!

This is the final piece to bring the reality of WWII home for your student. We will be seeing how our armed forces were prepared to protect our boarders during such a frightening time. We will also be solidifying bonds of friendship as we prepare to leave for the summer and return as eighth graders!
